About EAMS

The international conference on E-Assessment in Mathematical Sciences is a two-day academic conference organised by Newcastle University.

The conference aims to bring together researchers and practitioners with an interest in e-assessment for mathematics and the sciences. Running over two days, it will consist of a mix of presentations of new techniques, and pedagogic research, as well as workshops where you can get hands-on with leading e-assessment software.

The Organisers

Chris Graham
Director of E-Learning, School of Mathematics & Statistics, Newcastle University

Chris leads the e-learning unit in the School of Mathematics & Statistics at Newcastle University, overseeing e-assessment within the school and delivery of mathematical support to other parts of the University.

Bill Foster
Teaching Fellow, School of Mathematics & Statistics, Newcastle University

Bill has been involved in e-assessment for mathematical sciences since 1991. During that time he and his teams have implemented successful large-scale systems at Brunel and Newcastle Universities. He has researched, written and reported extensively on these and other developments.

Christian Lawson-Perfect
e-Learning Officer, School of Mathematics and Statistics, Newcastle University

Christian Lawson-Perfect is the lead developer of the open-source Numbas mathematical e-assessment system. He has a broad knowledge of the e-assessment landscape.
