A Moodle question type for creating multiple-choice questions fast

We always used multiple-choice questions to test mathematical definitions. Writing such questions used to take time and effort. About ten years ago we wrote a new question type for Moodle in which the lecturer can indicate exactly which fragments of text or formulas should be altered to create distractors. This allows the lecturer to develop new MCQs fast, for example, to produce frequent formative tests.
