Measuring learning gain in multi-attempt quizzes

Multi-attempt quizzes, which are assessed by a computer and count towards a student’s grade, provide an interesting opportunity to perceive how students learn.

I will present the progression of student marks across attempts in my quizzes.

Taken together with student comments, I will argue that the increase in marks is evidence of learning gain.

I will also describe an upcoming student internship which will help convert other quizzes in our department to this multi-attempt style.
