In the School of Engineering at Newcastle, the first year Thermofluids module relies heavily on the Numbas system for delivery and assessment. After a brief overview of the module structure and approach, this presentation discusses two of the more interesting applications of Numbas. Firstly, how property look-up tables have been incorporated into delivery and assessment. Secondly, how experimental lab sheets have been built to take students through the whole process, including health and safety guidance, instructions for conducting the experiments, data collection and calculation tables, and graph plotting.
